REMOVAL AND RE-INSTALLATION

Need a new roof?

A major question people with solar panels ask when their home or business needs a new roof is how will it affect their existing solar panel system.

When it comes time to replace your roof, Okanagan Solar is here to help. The process is simple and we should be able to re-use most of the original materials from your installation.

Removal and Reinstallation of Solar Panels

The Process

Our team will come to your home and remove the existing system. We take care to remove the panels, rooftop electronics, racking, and wiring systems. You will be asked to store the equipment at your home until its ready to be re-installed.

Once the roofing contractor you have chosen removes your old roof and replace it with new materials, we will be ready to reinstall your solar panels. If there’s an opportunity to remove old unused vents to optimize the solar layout, we will co-ordinate with your roofers to ensure your system re-install is efficient as possible.

Once the replacement roof work is completed, our solar team will come back and replace the solar panel system, re-using all the materials we can to save on costs. We will need to purchase new roof anchors as these are one time use items, and may need to replace some odds and ends if any part of the racking is seized on, but in general there should be minimal cost in new materials.

Okanagan Solar is there for you, even when you need a new roof and need to remove your existing solar panels.
