Okanagan Solar Ltd provides small wind turbine technology to remote locations or rural properties.

Small Wind Power Systems

The Rise of Small Wind Power Systems

Small wind power systems, often referred to as micro wind turbines, are renewable energy generators that are designed to harness the power of wind to create electricity. Unlike their larger counterparts, which are commonly seen on wind farms, small wind turbines are typically installed in remote locations, rural-residential properties, farms, and off grid applications.

Advantage of Small Wind Power Systems
One of the primary advantages of small wind power systems is their ability to generate electricity at a local level at all hours of the day, reducing reliance on centralized power grids and fossil fuels. These systems can pair with solar power and backup generators to create a diversified energy mix and achieve energy independence in unique situations.

Our wind turbines are best suited for completely off-grid remote locations, or rural farm land with minimal neighbors and a very high wind speed. We have installed these on the West Coast of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, and Newfoundland. Fortunately, the Okanagan does not typically have a consistent enough wind to make these a viable option in our interior climate (unless you live on a large mountain top!)

Small wind power systems are great for off-grid remote locations, rural farms and more.
